Music, Dance and Wandering Performers
* Stargold Puppets
Stargold Puppets comprises Lucia Simmons (puppeteer) and William Keyte (puppeteer/musician/storyteller). They have a deep interest in preserving the integrity and wisdom of traditional stories. They see puppetry as an ideal medium for presenting these stories to children. Enriched with live music and interactive songs, their puppetry performances and workshops enliven these enchanting stories. 'The Enormous Turnip' is a traditional folktale from Old Russia performed with live music and songs. There will be two performances at 10am and 10:45am, numbers are limited for these very special performances. Children are free but must be accompanied by a paying adult ($10).
* Nice Verdes www.myspace.com/niceverdesmusic
Nice Verdes was born in 2003 when Sally and Jesse met on the streets of Vancouver at one of the many peace marches that year. Initially playing together in Vancouver's iconic 20 piece 'Carnival Band' and 'Joko' a West African dance band, they began creating the music of Nice Verdes on the side. Danceable, uplifting- blending traditional musics with original compositions, they've created their own world fusion.
Nice Verdes have and continue to travel, learning, studying and collecting tunes and influences from around the world, especially from Africa and Latin America. Their sound is unique and hard to categorise, all at once bluesy, latin gypsy, jungle, folk and constantly growing- remaining true however, to the spirit of the peace march, celebrating unity in diversity, equality and sound ecology. Their album "Succulence" is out now.

* Moonjuice Express
Moonjuice Express are a brand spanking new 3 piece of diabolic proportions and extreme dynamic imbruliance. Simultaneously effervescing and chunky they put the boot of innovation up the bottom of where others bravely do not stomp. More of an experience than a band they will make you wonder "What!? How? Why? and More!?" in that order. Be nice to them. They might be weird but they love you.
Kids Workshops
* Kindermusik www.kindermusikbycreativekids.com.au
One of the most important aspects of Kindermusik is that all activities for babies, toddlers and preschoolers are enjoyable programs with music, movement, singing and games. This way the child becomes familiar with the rhythm of music and the structure of language. Fun games and relaxation exercises teach the child about their body parts and movement abilities. We also enjoy games and activities which improve the cognitive as well as emotional development of the child.
* Hey Dee Ho www.heydeehomusic.com.au
hey dee ho music has been providing an innovative music program for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers since 1987. Along with basic music concepts, our programs are designed to develop co-ordination, social interaction, a love of music and much more. hey dee ho music is an entertainment based music education program where musical concepts of beat, rhythm, tempo, pitch and dynamics are explored during every session. Included are a wide range of musical activities and songs ranging from traditional nursery rhymes to more contemporary songs such as those from The Wiggles and Hi-5 as well as a selection of compositions from Australian composers. Each program is set around a theme using puppets, props and non-tuned musical instruments. Auslan sign language is now part of the regular hey dee ho music program, with each session including at least one ‘sign’. When used in tandem with verbal language, this can enhance comprehension and communication skills. Simple songs from other languages are also included to reflect the multicultural influences in our community.
